In 2006, Joel was an integral part of launching Success Academy, the largest and highest-performing free, public charter school network in New York City, led by Eva Moskowitz. Joel spoke about how a struggling elementary school in Queens became one of the most successful charter schools in New York City, as well as the successes, shortcomings, and future of charter schools.
